2nd Time Round . . .

 

 

Keighley & district Volunteer Centre in partnership with Bradford District care trust is spearheading a District wide collection service of donated goods. Through this initiative people with learning disabilities and people experiencing mental health problems will have the opportunity to learn new skills, build self confidence and become active members of their local community.


Tasks:


Melville house centre for employment services (Part of BDCT day opportunity services for people with learning disabilities) and KDVC have developed a sorting site and retail charity shop that will sell nearly new goods.

Aims of the Project
The project will give people with a learning disability and people experiencing mental health problems an opportunity to work together in a sheltered supportive environment.

People will be involved in all areas of the project:
Marketing – Delivery leaflets – Collection of goods – Sorting – washing/mending/ironing – Pricing of goods - selling of goods

The skills people will gain through accessing the project are transferable and will help them in their daily living

There will also be an opportunity for people to access accredited vocational training that will prepare them for the world of work.

If you feel you have any spare time and would be interested in becoming a volunteer on the project please contact us on the below numbers.

Please support this new and exciting project to raise the profile of both people with learning disabilities and people experiencing mental health problems. All money generated will be put back into the project to develop it.
