How does CarelinK work?
Older people can refer themselves to CarelinK or be referred by
anyone who is involved with their care.
When a person is referred, the CarelinK co-ordinator will visit them at home to discuss their needs.
The Co-ordinator will introduce them to one of our befrienders as soon as one becomes available.
The same befriender will visit, usually for an hour each week, at a mutually agreeable time.
The befriending relationship can continue for as long as it suits the needs of the client and the
availability of the volunteer.
The befriending relationship will continue to be monitored by the co-ordinator.
